    For the first time from the heart of Westminster, the IA’s Annual Policy Conference will bring together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the investment management industry’s pivotal role as a powerful engine for growth.

    With keynote speeches from leading industry and public figures at the global, regional, and domestic levels, this year’s conference will provide a platform for over 600 participants from across the industry to exchange knowledge and network with colleagues, policymakers, and regulators alike.

2025 has been a year of reform for the pensions industry and, by extension, the investment management industry. This keynote from the Pensions Regulator (TPR) will explore the evolving pensions landscape, regulatory priorities for TPR following the government’s creation of pension megafunds, and the regulator’s ongoing shift towards a more prudential style of regulation.

As the government undertakes what is termed the “biggest pension reform in decades,” we have the opportunity to significantly improve how individuals are investing for their futures and how those investments can drive the wider economy. However, these reforms come with challenges: What is the government’s role in determining how and where pension assets should be invested? How should pension adequacy be addressed in a challenging economic climate? They will also consider implications of government and regulatory ambitions to encourage more people to invest could mean for the FSCS.  Martyn will be giving us insight into the scheme’s future ambitions, and how the industry can feed in expertise.

Maintaining the stability of the financial system is at the heart of the Bank of England’s macroprudential mission.
